Was it possible to avoid the Russian war on Ukraine?

Was it possible to avoid the Russian war on Ukraine and to avoid the killing and displacement of many oppressed families?

Russian war on Ukraine

A question we ask openly, we find an answer

But he might say, What is the importance of this question after the war took place and we reached where we are now?

But I will respond to him by saying that answering this question may help prevent similar wars in that region or other regions of the world.

Because the beginnings of crises that lead to wars are often similar, in motives and goals.

So let's answer the question we asked at the beginning of the article. But before we answer the question, let us know the causes of this war.

First: The reasons for the Russia-Putin war on Ukraine (was it possible to avoid the war)

1- Putin’s ambition to restore the Russian Empire, collapsed with the disintegration of the former Soviet Union in 1991.

2- Putin's feeling that the West, led by America, is the reason behind this disintegration and collapse.

3- Ukraine's request to join NATO.

4 - Russia's fear of NATO's expansion to its borders and the placement of the alliance's weapons in its backyard.

5- The great rapprochement between Ukraine and Europe and its request to join the European Union.

These are some of the apparent reasons for the Russian war on Ukraine. But was it possible to avoid all of these reasons? Containing the situation and avoiding the occurrence of this war, which indirectly harmed the whole world, harmed and displaced a peaceful people, the Ukrainian people.

How was it possible to extinguish the flame of this war from the beginning? (Could the war have been avoided)

1- From the Ukrainian side, they had to negotiate directly with the Russians to end the state of conflict that has existed for years. And not to rely on the Western side that it is able to deter Putin from going to that war. It would have been better to discuss the concerns of the Russians about the situation of Ukraine and its accession to NATO. Instead of escalating matters with them to the point of a devastating war.

2- On the western side (NATO), led by America, it should have abandoned the idea of including Ukraine in the alliance and entered into negotiations with Russia that would guarantee the security of Ukraine in exchange for not including it in the alliance.

3- Reducing the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia and trying to contain the Russian position, as Germany was doing before the start of this Russian-Ukrainian war.

But why are we looking into the causes of this war?

Because its causes and motives are present in the same region and also from the Russian side to other neighboring countries that joined NATO during the period of Russian weakness, which Putin has not forgotten or surpassed.

All of these are other war projects

Also, on the other hand, China has the same ambitions in Taiwan. It is now waiting for the results of this war to determine for itself the next step.

But what distinguishes the Chinese side is that it is calm and studies its steps carefully and without rush, unlike the Russian side.

What are the damages of the Russian-Ukrainian war?

1 - Many people were killed, soldiers and civilians, who had no elegance or camel in such political strife.

2- The displacement of thousands of helpless families. You can imagine your life after you and your family enjoyed a quiet life in a comfortable house, and suddenly you had to carry a little baggage and go out with your family as a refugee here or there. And treat like a bastard. How much we have seen and heard about the exploitation of Ukrainian girls and women by some countries in prostitution or in working as maids. They did not have mercy on the dear people of that.

It is unfortunate and sad to see the suffering of these people in the thousands because of the foolish ambitions of some politicians here or there.

3- The Ukrainian economy and the global economy were affected. Even many countries in our Arab region were affected by this war, because they had economic relations with Ukraine, such as importing grain and others.

Also, every bullet, every cannon, and every missile or plane has a great economic price. Humankind pays it from its own flesh and blood. It is the lives of the safe who have been intimidated and displaced.

In conclusion: We hope that this destructive war will stop, in order to preserve the life and dignity of humanity.

War is a tragedy in which a person uses the best of what he has to inflict upon himself the worst of what befalls him. — William Gladstone
