We see these people taking to the streets in their millions, rejecting this war and calling for its immediate cessation, but the rulers of those countries classified as democratic countries do not pay attention to their people as if democracy is a selective process.
How can a president elected by his people, who preferred him over other candidates, ignore what his people want, as if he does not hear the voices of the angry masses?
So where is the principle of rule by the people, which is the meaning of democracy?
We see today that more than 60% of the peoples of those countries are calling and demanding an end to the killing and destruction in Gaza,, and yet we see their governments taking decisions every day that contradict the will of those peoples.
That is, the rule of the people no longer had any importance for the aristocratic rulers.
Where are you, lawmen?
If there were experienced jurists in these countries, they would file a lawsuit before the supreme courts in their country to overthrow these rulers. Because they broke their promises to their people and brought down their countries' democracies.
If there were true democracies, the rulers of many democratic countries would have been dismissed, led by Biden in America, Macron in France, and the prime ministers of Germany and Britain, because they destroyed the decisions and positions of their people.
I see that the war on Gaza and its destruction is a real and difficult test for those Western democracies, and I see that they failed this test with a knockout blow.
But: There is hope for the peoples of those countries to make the necessary change for their rulers and leaders in order to preserve their democracies.
And those peoples should push to stop this war. So that their humanity is not lost before their democracies.
